Banque Internationale Arabe de Tunisie

Banque Internationale Arabe de Tunisie (BIAT) is the largest private sector bank in Tunisia.[1][2][3][4] It is listed in the Bourse de Tunis.[5][6]

Overview

The Banque Internationale Arabe de Tunisie was founded in 1976, as a result of a merger of the Tunisian branches of the Société Marseillaise de Crédit and the British Bank of the Middle East.[7] It is headquartered in Tunis, Tunisia.[1] It has 121 offices in Tunisia and 1 office in Libya.[1] It has announced it will open additional branches in Algeria and Morocco. [8]

Marouane Mabrouk, who is married to one of former President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali’s daughters from his first marriage, sits on the Board, while his brother Ismael is the Chairman of the Board.[9]
